At the Rotary Club of Daylesford, we take immense pride in landmarks that bring our community together, and the Wombat Hill Picnic Shelter is a project close to our hearts. Originally built by our members in 1980, this shelter has hosted decades of family gatherings and quiet afternoons overlooking our beautiful town.
When a fallen tree branch severely damaged the structure in 2020, we knew we couldn’t let this piece of local history slip away. Through our “Tradie Program,” our volunteers rolled up their sleeves to repair and repaint the shelter, restoring it for a new generation. It stands today as a proud symbol of what we can achieve when we work together to preserve the places that make Daylesford home.
